We organised a fundraiser event, which was Mridula's Bharatanatyam performance. This was held by NaatyaBhoomi on Jan 6th, 2024 at GEAR Innovative International School, and because of the contributions of hundreds of donors, she can now finance the dance education of identified underprivileged children for approximately the next one to one and a half years!

Welcome to Project Naatyashiksha. The word can be broken down as “Naatya” meaning drama/dance and “Shiksha” meaning education. Dance Education.
Bharatanatyam is a time-honoured Indian classical art form, nurtured and fostered by many young and passionate artists.. Every Indian has the right to tap into this heritage and keep it alive. Yet, it is only accessible to a privileged class. Factors such as lack of affordability, lack of access to the dance tutors and facilities, keep it far from reach for those who do not come from a privileged background and Project Naatyashiksha, envisioned by Mridula, aims to address exactly this.
Through her platform Naatyabhoomi.com, founded, coded and curated by herself over the last two two years, she has launched Project Naatyasiksha. She, alongwith Rotary Palmville, has identified 20 interested and passionate students from Shri Renuka High School in Sarjapura Road. Through the fundraiser held by NaatyaBhoomi on Jan 6th, 2024 at GEAR Innovative International School, and because of contributions of hundreds of donors and significant contributions from donors such as Mr. Sarvesh Srinivasan, Rotary Palmville, she can now finance their dance education for, approximately, the next one to one and a half years. The identified beneficiary students from the school were also present at the event and one of them also spoke and thanked Mridula, Rotary and the donors.
However, this is only the beginning, the broader aim for the Project is to allow them to pursue this art form for life, making it a possible vocational career option, and creating an income stream for those students and sustaining their interest in the art form. We sincerely appeal to you, the patrons and donors to continue supporting us through this journey and help us make Project Naatyashiksha truly successful.
